easy... Slap a 10% tax on all banks...20% on 'too big to fail' banks. Use the funds to regenerate the economy. It's called restoring the balance!

So snow causes a drag on the economy so say the experts. Has anyone considered the possibility that this time last year there were seasonal factors which had the *same* effect? Isn't that why the numbers are seasonally adjusted?

Why oh why oh why is the job of regulating going to the FED that was so derelict in its duty to regulate in the run up to the 2008 meltdown? Is there no accountability? Is there no transparency? Where is the tenacity of our elected officials?

So...are the policies working yet? This lowest number on record comes *before* the stimulus is withdrawn... "January's data will increase concerns that the housing rebound could falter in coming months as the government withdraws the support it has used to try to bolster the housing market"
